چکیده

The asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) with periodic boundary conditions is investigated for shuffled dynamics. In this type of update, in each discrete timestep the particles are updated in a random sequence. Such an update is important for several applications, e.g. for certain models of pedestrian flow in two dimensions. For the ASEP with shuffled dynamics and a related truncated process exact results are obtained for deterministic motion (p = 1). Since the shuffled dynamics is intrinsically stochastic, also this case is nontrivial. For the case of stochastic motion (0 < p < 1) it is shown that, in contrast to all other updates studied previously, the ASEP with shuffled update does not have a product measure steady state. Approximative formulas for the steady state distribution and fundamental diagram are derived that are in very good agreement with simulation data. § [email protected][email protected][email protected] Asymmetric exclusion processes with shuffled dynamics 2

Asymmetric exclusion processes with disorder: effect of correlations.

Multiparticle dynamics in one-dimensional asymmetric exclusion processes with disorder is investigated theoretically by computational and analytical methods. It is argued that the general phase diagram consists of three nonequilibrium phases that are determined by the dynamic behavior at the entrance, at the exit and at the slowest defect bond in the bulk of the system. Specifically, we conside...

Asymmetric exclusion processes with constrained dynamics.

Asymmetric exclusion processes with locally reversible kinetic constraints are introduced to investigate the effect of nonconservative driving forces in athermal systems. At high density they generally exhibit rheological-like behavior, negative differential resistance, two-step structural relaxation, dynamical heterogeneity and, possibly, a jamming transition driven by the external field.

Asymmetric coupling in two-channel simple exclusion processes

Simple exclusion processes for particles moving along two parallel lattices and jumping between them are theoretically investigated for asymmetric rates of transition between the channels. An approximate theoretical approach, that describes the particle dynamics exactly in any vertical cluster of two parallel sites and neglects the correlations between the different vertical clusters, is applie...

Two-Channel Totally Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Processes

Totally asymmetric simple exclusion processes, consisting of two coupled parallel lattice chains with particles interacting with hard-core exclusion and moving along the channels and between them, are considered. In the limit of strong coupling between the channels, the particle currents, density profiles and a phase diagram are calculated exactly by mapping the system into an effective one-cha...

Matrix Product Ground States for Exclusion Processes with Parallel Dynamics

We show in the example of a one-dimensional asymmetric exclusion process that stationary states of models with parallel dynamics may be written in a matrix product form. The corresponding algebra is quadratic and involves three different matrices. Using this formalism we prove previous conjectures for the equal-time correlation functions of the model.
